Business Overview
Manage your manufacturers, wholesalers, and service providers. Track what you owe them and how often you buy from them.
Actions
1. Adding a New Supplier
- Go to Purchases > Suppliers.
- Click Add Supplier.
- Basic Info: Enter the Supplier Name, Email, and Phone.
- Tax Info: Enter their VAT/TIN number if required for tax filing.
- Payment Terms: Select how long you usually have to pay (e.g., "Net 30").
- Opening Balance: If you already owe them money at the start of using QOBooks, enter it here.
- Click Save.
2. Viewing Supplier History & Statements
- Click on any supplier in the list to open their Ledger.
- View a chronological list of all Bills and Payments.
- Statement: Click "Generate Statement" to see the balance over a specific period.
3. Updating Supplier Details
- Find the supplier and click the Edit icon.
- Update contact details or change default payment terms.
- Click Update.
4. Deactivating or Deleting
- Deactivate: Toggle "Active" to OFF if you no longer purchase from them.
- Delete: Only possible if the supplier has zero linked transactions.
[!TIP] Preferred Items: Inside the supplier profile, you can see a list of items you've purchased from them recently to help you reorder quickly.
